Obama Latest To Order Security Back-Up
President Obama is the latest in the long list of world leaders to call for procedures to be drawn up to manage the risk of the country’s exposure to cyber security threats. Obama has ordered US officials from the House Intelligence Committee to revive CISPA – the White House’s cyber threat information-sharing legislation.
The President’s statement was made during a public address this month, warning officials that the country’s enemies were “seeking the ability to sabotage our power grid, our financial institutions and our air traffic control systems".
Obama has urged the National Institute of Standards and Technology to work with government agencies and industry bodies to draw up plans and defences against detrimental cyber attacks, telling congressmen and women that these standards would protect the USA’s National Security, jobs and privacy.
This is probably the highest profile call to arms to date, with the USA setting standards for the rest of the world. Xyone Cyber Security Solutions are proud to be playing a part in building national defences against cyber attacks.
