The need for Data Protection training

Businesses have a duty to comply with the Data Protection Act of 1998 - and soon, the General Data Protection Regulation. For many, this means registering with the Information Commissioner’s Office – the governing body for the safe handling of data. This course focuses on the regulatory and legislative obligations of the business, ensuring compliance with the authorities.


Course aim:

To familiarise all members of the workforce with the legal implications with handling, sharing and storing data. The course will demonstrate the regulations that businesses must follow to ensure they are working in line with, and are not at risk of breaching the Data Protection Act which could result in remedial action from the ICO.

Course objectives:

By the end of this 1 hour training course, participants will have:

  • An understanding of Data Protection law and the regulations for businesses.

  • Knowledge for how to securely process personal data.

  • Understood the role of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

  • Studied the eight principles of the Data Protection Act 1998.

  • Have a greater understanding for how to deal with data sharing requests.

  • Practical tips and advice to take away and implement.
