A Certified Ethical Hacker is a skilled professional who understands and knows how to look for the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems and uses the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker. A certified ethical hacker will apply ‘white hat’ techniques to penetrate networks and applications to highlight vulnerabilities which could potentially lead to harmful threats, looking to patch them up and improve security for the business.
To become a Certified Ethical Hacker, a training course must be completed through either an Accredited Training Centre or through self study. Following this, an exam is taken and certification is rewarded.
Xyone Cyber Security have a team of Certified Ethical Hackers which deliver a series of penetration testing services. Our CEHs are highly skilled in penetration testing and apply thorough and complete attention to detail in all of his work.
Here is a description of Ethical Hacking by one of our CEHs, Zain Javed:
“Ethical Hackers are the good guys who have been trained to think like hackers, so if a potential hacker wanted to gain access to your company there are different methods and ways they could get in. What I do is launch a penetration test to imitate how a real hacker would access your business, potentially damaging your reputation and analyse the results to point out the vulnerabilities, then I will advise you around how best to solve and mitigate the risk.”
